As part of her multi-million pound refurbishment and spring clean; Oasis of the Seas will be arriving in Southampton this Wednesday (15 October). Cruise aficionados have been invited along by Royal Caribbean to Southampton’s Mayflower Park to watch the arrival of the ship at 10am in the morning.
The Royal Caribbean team are providing free bacon sandwiches, and tea and coffee (while stocks last) to all cruise fans who turn up to the event.
The Oasis of the Seas will make its way to Southampton after dry docking in the Keppel Verolme shipyard in the Netherlands. The huge dry dock in Rotterdam will oversee the majority of the huge refurb for the second largest cruise ship on the seas. Celebrating her 5th year of operation; the Oasis of the Seas will venture back to the Caribbean following her spruce up, treating passengers to cruises around the idyllic islands.
Cruise fans can even treat themselves to a transatlantic crossing following the refurbishment of the Oasis of the Seas as the ship takes in the Ocean Voyage on Oasis cruise to its US home port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Her docking in the UK will be something of a historic occasion, becoming the largest cruise ship to ever dock in the country. The 225,282-GRT Oasis of the Seas is 40% larger than the largest ever ship to previously dock in the UK.
