Celebrity Edge is Coming to Europe in 2019 – Including Unbelievable Sailing from Southampton

Perhaps the most hotly anticipated cruise ship in construction, Celebrity Edge has long had industry insiders and cruise fans excited about its launch at the tail end of 2018. And European cruise lovers will be overjoyed to hear that Celebrity Cruises’ ground-breaking ship will be sailing the continent’s waters in 2019 – including an unmissable voyage from Southampton.

Celebrity Cruises have released a series of European itineraries for the 2019 season, with sailings from the upcoming Celebrity Edge, as well as Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Constellation. This completes one of the line’s biggest and best ever European line ups.

For UK-based cruise aficionados excited about the prospect of Celebrity Edge, the most eye-catching itinerary is sure to be the 10-night Iberian Peninsula cruise setting sail from Southampton. Departing 15 May 2019, the itinerary heads to the highlights of Iberia, including the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, timeless Bilbao and amazing Gibraltar. Continuing east, the itinerary then calls in at the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia before concluding in Rome – perhaps the continent’s most enigmatic city.

This springtime sailing promises gorgeous weather, long days soaking up the Iberian sun and plenty of opportunity to sample the unique amenities set to feature on board Celebrity Edge.

The line has planned a series of unique itineraries for Celebrity Edge through Europe during spring and summer 2019. Following straight from the Iberian Peninsula tour is the 10-night Amalfi & Greek Isles cruise which visits some of Greece’s most stunning locations – including the islands of Santorini and Mykonos, as well as the capital Athens.

Other European sailings on board Celebrity Edge include the 7-night France & Italy itinerary which embarks from Barcelona, and calls in at Valencia, Ibiza, Marseille, Nice and Florence, before ending in Rome.

Celebrity’s Cutting-Edge Features

Celebrity Edge promises to be so much more than just another new ship launch, with a radical design, and a series of features and amenities never before seen on the seas.

Perhaps the most striking is set to be the Magic Carpet, an innovative moveable deck. Roughly the size of a tennis court, Magic Carpet is cantilevered over the side of the ship and can move between 15 decks. Depending on the deck it’s located on, Magic Carpet will serve different purposes. On deck two, it will be used as an efficient gangway to help guests on board, on deck five, it will serve as an al fresco dining venue. On deck 14, it’ll serve as a happy hour bar, and on 16, Magic Carpet becomes a daily-changing specialty restaurant.

There’ll also be a selection of brand new cabin classes, including the first solo suites on Celebrity Cruises vessels. With luxury sewn throughout, Celebrity Edge promises to provide an incredible experience for anyone lucky enough to secure their place on board during her inaugural season.
