Celebrity will bid farewell to Century in 2015 with special Celebration cruise.

In 2015, Celebrity Century will be retired after 20 years service.

Since Celebrity Century’s inaugural sailing two decades ago, guests have enjoyed the ship’s beautifully designed spacious areas, indulgent beauty spa, award-winning dining experiences and popular bars.  Now, the cruise line have decided to retire the ship.

Before the ship is retired, Celebrity Cruises have planned a spectacular send off, including a range of celebrations to commemorate the two decades the ship was with the fleet.

1) The ‘Celebration of the Century’ Cruise:

Firstly, the cruise line will be holding a one off farewell cruise, dubbed the “President’s Celebration of the Century”.

Captain’s Club loyalty members and holidaymakers will be able to join the president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises during this one off celebration. The 14-night cruise will visit ports of call in Asia, and will sail from Singapore on March 8th 2015. Guests on this special cruise will visit destinations in Vietnam and the Philippines.

There will be further special events and exclusive activities for this cruise announced in the coming months.

2) Celebrity Century’s Farewell Season:

Secondly, Century will visit a record number of ports of call during the year, including 17 new cruise destinations for the brand.

From March 2014 through to April 2015, Century will visit over 70 ports of call across 32 countries. No other ship in the fleet will visit as many destinations in that year!

Celebrity is scheduled to visit the following new destinations:

  • Manila and Boracay, Philippines;
  • Bandar Seri Begawan (Muara), Brunei;
  • Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar.

Guests sailing on Celebrity Century will be able to explore Asia, Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific Coast and South Pacific through a range of culture-rich experiences and excursions.

About Celebrity Century:

Celebrity Century is the lead ship in the Century-class section of the company’s fleet.

Century was launched in 1995, and sailed her maiden voyage in December that year.  She was renovated eleven years later.  It is thought that Century’s renovation was the line’s most extensive to date.

Century was the first ship to be installed with the now hugely popular Martini Bar and Murano, the award-winning speciality restaurant.

The Celebrity Cruise line say that Century is in a class all of her own.  Onboard, guests can enjoy watching films at the cinema, taking a dip in the onboard swimming pool, placing a bet in the casino or indulging in a little ‘me time’ at the spa.

About Celebrity Cruises:

Celebrity Cruises are constantly winning industry awards, often beating off the competition in consumer polls.  They put these frequent accolades down to their unforgettable onboard experiences, luxurious accommodations, award-winning gourmet dining and their unbeatable choice of hand-picked destinations.
