Carnival Releases Details about Upcoming Vista

Carnival Cruise Lines have announced details about their upcoming Carnival Vista ship, which promises to be the most innovative member of the fleet, with a wide range of unique features. Highlights include SkyRide – a suspended open-air cycling course, and the first ever IMAX theatre on a cruise ship.

Launching in May 2016, the Carnival Vista will spend its first season cruising around a selection of Mediterranean itineraries – representing the line’s return to Europe. The maiden voyage on 1 May 2016 is a 13-day cruise from Trieste taking in a selection of ports throughout the Mediterranean. Later that year, the ship will relocate to New York following a transatlantic crossing.

Water Park

One of the most striking and recognisable features aboard many of the Carnival Cruises fleet is the array of water slides emanating from the top decks. The Carnival Vista will continue this tradition and feature some of the most stunning and unique water slides of the fleet, including the colourful Kaleid-O-Slide – the line’s first raft-riding tube slide. The WaterWorks water park aboard the Carnival Vista is the largest in the fleet.

The water park also features the RedFrog Pub – a New England-inspired eatery.

Unique Features

Taking the world’s most-immersive cinema experience, IMAX, to sea – the Carnival Vista will treat guests to the latest blockbusters and classic family favourites. The three-deck high screen and incredible sound system will envelop guests in an unforgettable cinematic experience. Complete with concessions stands and popcorn vendors, the cinema will play a wide variety of material including documentaries.

Arguably the most striking feature aboard the Carnival Vista is set to be SkyRide, a suspended cycling course which guests are invited to traverse 150 feet above the sea. Additionally, the ship offers the suspended rope course SkyCourse for intrepid and sure-footed guests.

Wining and Dining

Away from the physical exertion, there is a selection of new dining and drinking options set to debut on the Carnival Vista. The casual outdoor Seafood Shack offers New England inspired treats from the bottom of the ocean with a menu full of lobsters, shrimps, crabs and more.

The RedFrog Pub is the cruise line’s first ever brewery – using two large kettle drums to craft delicious brews throughout the cruise. The bar even features table-top taps which allows guests to pour their own drinks.
