Carnival redeploys ships around USA & Australia

Carnival Cruise Lines will move a number ships to new ports in 2014

Here’s a quick rundown of the Carnival ships being redeployed next year:

Carnival Sunshine – after her $155 million transformation, Sunshine will only stay in New Orleans for winter, rather than year round. She’ll be repositioned from New Orleans to Port Canaveral in April 2014. Sunshine will be the first Carnival ship ever based in Central Florida with all the Fun Ship 2.0 features.

Carnival Liberty – the ship is currently based in Miami, she’ll also move to Port Canaveral in May 2014, where she’ll operate year round, offering eight day Caribbean cruises.

Carnival Dream – this ship will move to New Orleans, operating year round and offering seven day Caribbean cruises from April 2014. Carnival will be the only cruise line offering two year round ships from New Orleans and are expected to carry more than 400,00 guests.

Carnival Pride – Pride will be withdrawn from Baltimore and redeployed to Tampa, where she’ll over seven day cruises from December 2014 through to April 2014. Pride will join Carnival Paradise which offers four and five-day cruises from the west coast of Florida.

Carnival Legend – this ship will remain in Tampa until August 17 2014. The ship will then reposition to Australia to operate a seasonal schedule from Sydney, joining Carnival Spirit.

Carnival Glory – Glory will move from Norfolk, Virginia and move to Miami year round from November 2013. She will operate seven day voyages that alternate weekly to the eastern and western Caribbean.

Speaking about the changes, Gerry Cahill, Carnival president and CEO said:

“These deployment changes will enable us to offer our guests even more exciting Carnival cruise vacation choices from Central Florida and the Gulf region and significantly enhance our leadership positions in the Port Canaveral and New Orleans markets.”
