Carnival Glory’s Emerald Room Steakhouse wins ACF Award

Carnival Glory has been awarded top honours from American Culinary Federation (ACF) who represent professional chefs in North America.  Over a thousand chefs, their students and other foodservice professionals were at the annual event in Orlando, Florida on 14-17 July.  The delegates take the opportunity to learn new skills, network and try out new equipment at demonstrations and trade stands.  This year had over 100 exhibitors and this was along with the national competitions and awards.

The guest presenters this year included Robert Irvine from the Food Network who gave a demonstration on maintaining nutrition and presentation in a dish.  Paul Prudhomme gave a motivational speech on career success and challenges.  Iron Chef Cat Cora made a special appearance.  On the last day, the American Chef Federation took on board the ‘Feed the Planet’ declaration, joining the worldwide chef’s initiative.  Rick Moonen then explained to the delegates their role in sustainability and their responsibilities in feeding the world.

Carnival’s delegates were delighted to be there to see The Emerald Room receive the Achievement in Excellence in recognition of superior cuisine and their excellent customer service.  The restaurant has been in operation since 2003, and is always a favourite of Carnival’s cruise guests.  The mouth-watering starters, fantastic steaks and deliciously naughty desserts are all legendary.  Friendly service and a hand picked chef’s wine list makes eating at the steakhouse a memorable experience.  The mouthwatering steaks are cooked expertly cooked to your exact specification and the seafood is without comparison.

Carnival Glory is currently operating out of New York running four to seven day voyages.  In November it is booked into dry dock for extensive refurbishment that will add further dining and entertainment areas to bring it up to Fun Ship 2 standard.  Hopefully to be completed in around two weeks, Carnival Glory will then be undertaking 7 day Caribbean sailings from Miami.
