Carnival Cruise Lines partners with NBA team

Cruise line is testing the waters by installing three new bars on land

Already considered to be “The World’s Most Popular Cruise Line®” with 24 ships operating 3 to 18-day voyages to various ports of call around the world and known for creating memorable experiences on its “Fun Ship” fleet, Carnival Cruise Lines are dipping its foot into unchartered territory by opening three tropical themed bars in Miami at the American Airlines Arena in partnership with two-time NBA champions, the Miami Heat.

While you might consider it a stretch for the cruise line operator, it might interest you to know that the former CEO of the cruise line (he stepped down a couple of months ago) also owns the Miami Heat NBA team.  Plus, the cruise line are already pros at creating 24/7 fun on their ships. One of the many things they have earned a stellar reputation for has been making guests feel at home and enjoy themselves thanks to attentive service as well as delicious food and incredible drinks.

This port of call just happens to be at one of the most popular arenas for professional basketball and is helping the arena elevate its food, drink, and entertainment options for guests. And, when you hear what the bars have to offer, you will surely want to come imbibe before, during, and after a basketball game or arena event.

The three tropical-themed bars are modelled after existing party bars on Carnival’s cruise ships and offer a wide range of fun, fruity, and decidedly tropical drinks. The bars are called Red Frog Bar, Red Frog Rum Bar, and Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. All feature a menu of drinks focused on each bar’s theme as well as share some common drinks between them, including many well-known and premium brands of draft and bottled beer as well as Carnival’s private label draft beer called “Thirsty Frog Red.”

With Red Frog located on the main level and the other two on the 400 level, there is easy access to all the party bars. Some standout drinks at the Red Frog bars include Rum Jumper filled with Bacardi Superior, Bacardi 8, banana liqueur, and orange and pineapple juices; Midnight Mojito, which overflows with Bacardi Oakheart Spiced Rum, brown sugar, mint, lime and club soda; and Red’s Painkiller sure to numb any pain thanks to such ingredients as Bacardi 8, Bacardi Coco, and tropical fruit juices.

Of course, the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar lives up to its namesake with tequila-themed drinks, including a wide range of margaritas. One example of the excellent libations here is the Spicy Margarita, which is made with Cazadores Reposado, chipotle pineapple syrup, and sour mix.

It’s surely time to get your party on thanks to Carnival Cruise Lines. There’s a space in line for you during the next Conga line!
