Those unfamiliar with cruise ships and all they have to offer, often level the criticism that there won’t be enough to keep them entertained in between land excursions. This is despite cruise companies continuously offering more and more unique, innovative and exciting activities aboard their liners. Here are just a select few on-board activities that get us excited in the Cruise1st offices.

iFly by Ripcord

Ship: Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas

Deal: Sunshine in the Canaries

The Quantum Class of ships from Royal Caribbean will be the first to give passengers an at-sea skydiving experience. The iFly by Ripcord is a unique wind tunnel for experienced skydivers and first-timers alike to test their skills and experience weightlessness. Enjoying iFly is free but passengers need to make reservations for the simulator online before setting sail.

Movies under the Stars

Ships: Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess & Regal Princess

Deal: Caribbean Explorer

The Movies under the Stars scheme from Princess Cruises uses the biggest screens on the seas to showcase a wide range of films for the family or couples looking for a little night time romance. Positioned alongside the signature swimming pools of the ships, Movies under the Stars is an idyllic setting to watch a movie on a warm, still evening at sea.

EA Sports Bar

Ships: Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Sunshine & Carnival Triumph

Deal: The Glory of the Caribbean

EA have built up a reputation for their dedication to sport, annually producing the popular sports titles Fifa, Madden NFL, PGA Tour, NHL and NBA Live. Now they have taken their passion for sports to the seas with the dedicated EA Sports Bars aboard a number of Carnival cruises. The bars show all the best sporting action from around the world, and plays host to a number of video game consoles to keep sports fans entertained through half time and when the action is finished.

Miniature Golf

Ships: Carnival Dream

Deal: Memphis, New Orleans & Bahamas

A number of cruise liners have comprehensive miniature and crazy golf courses, but few can match the behemoth aboard the Carnival Dream. The pirate themed course is fantastic fun for all the family.

North Star Observation Pod

Ship: Anthem of the Seas

Deal: Italian Mediterranean

Another unique feature of the upcoming Quantum Class of ships from Royal Caribbean; the North Star Observation Pods lift passengers 300ft in the air, giving them unparalleled seascapes and views. Use of the observation pod is complimentary for passengers on a first-come, first-serve basis although sunrise and sunset bookings can be made to guarantee a spot for a special treat.
