The Azamara fleet may be small but when it comes to offering its passengers an utterly unique boutique experience, Journey and Quest sail high above the competition. Now, the line has announced that passengers can expect an even more up-market experience when both Azamara vessels undergo major upgrades during a multi-million dollar dry-dock planned for early next year.
Representatives from the line have revealed plans to completely reimagine the guest experience, with a complete overhaul of venues, public spaces, accommodations and technologies. From bow to stern, the fresh new Azamara ships will be nothing short of incredible.
One of the most anticipated new additions is the ultra-stylish Pan-Asian Restaurant. All staterooms and suites will undergo a complete revamp while a new dining room, spa and entertainment complex will ensure passengers receive the VIP treatment wherever they step.
Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises explains that while the line is renowned for its immersive on-land adventures it also wants to ensure the at-sea experience is just as extraordinary. “We are best known for our Land Discoveries programs which have enabled us to boast an unprecedented number of repeat guest bookings as well as strong back to back voyage reservations. As we continue to evolve our destination immersive offerings, we also want to ensure our on-board experience is modernized to meet guests’ every need,” said Pimentel in a press release.
So what do we know so far? While the line has remained relatively tight lipped, it has revealed a few exciting snippets. The website discloses that the key aim of the enhancements is to bring the “organic essence” of Destination Immersion to the on-board passenger experience. Designs draw inspiration from the landscapes, rivers and beaches of the unique destinations Azamara ships sail to across the globe. Four natural themes lie at the heart of the extensive upgrades – Earth, Water, Air and Fire.
Azamara Journey will cruise into a Bahamas based dry dock in January 2016. Azamara Quest will follow closely behind in April, when she’ll undergo a Singapore based revamp. The line is incredibly excited to roll out the new look ships, with Pimentel maintaining that, “These major upgrades are going to have an instant impact on our guests’ experience. Each corner of the ships will have a new look and feel, setting a brighter, more contemporary ambiance, while the new venues will bring guests fresh experiences. We’re also investing in new on-board innovations and have paid close attention to the smallest of details. We really are redefining our on-board experience in every way.”
Over the next few months Azamara will continue to leak details about the fleet wide refurbishment and we can’t wait to see what’s on the cards. Needless to say it will be Azamazing!
