Record-breaking sales for Anthem of the Seas

At the end of February, bookings opened up for one of Royal Caribbean International’s newest ships, Anthem of the Seas.

The company’s newest offering seems to have excited cruising aficionados because room bookings have sold at a record pace.

The cruise line are reporting that guests booked up two-thirds of Anthem of the Seas’ premium balcony and suite accommodations in just the first day and a half on sale!

Speaking about the record breaking sales, Royal Caribbean’s managing director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Stuart Leven said:

“Since the announcement in November last year that Anthem of the Seas will call Southampton its home, the reaction from holiday makers and agents has been phenomenal. It’s been two weeks since we confirmed the itineraries and it’s clear that the anticipation has been there and converted to vigorous first day sales and we haven’t even announced all of our ground breaking features for this amazing new ship.

“Anthem of the Seas clearly has great appeal and the high value bookings reflect that guests want to holiday in a new and innovative way and in style. Thank you to Crown and Anchor loyalty members and partners for delivering a record breaking welcome to this new ship.”

About Anthem of the Seas:

Anthem will sail out of Southampton in 2015.  The ship will weigh in at an impressive 167,000 tonnes and will be 348 meters long once built.  She’ll host passengers across 16 decks,  eight of which will feature balcony staterooms with ocean views.

Guests can expect to enjoy virtual balcony technology on inside cabins, a ‘SeaPlex’ activity space, set to be the largest ever indoor activity space at sea, and will include a basketball court, a roller skating rink, a bumper car experience AND the first ever flying trapeze at sea.

Guests looking for an exhilarating experience may enjoy the RipCord by iFly, a simulated sky diving experience – and the first ever at sea. This will be available on all three Quantum Class ships.

Guests will also be able to take in the amazing scenery while at sea or port by experiencing the North Star transparent pod, that will transport guests 300 feet above sea level and give 360-degree panoramic views.

Anthem of the Seas will form part of the new “Quantum Class” of ships.  Quantum of the Seas is the flagship vessel in this class, she’ll be slivered in November 2014.  A third unnamed ship is expected to be delivered in 2016.
