In October of last year, the Royal Caribbean PR team descended on Boscombe Beach in Dorset armed to the teeth with sports equipment and fun activity paraphernalia. However, this was not just a fun day out at the beach for the hard-working RCI team, it was a central part of the PR bandwagon’s masterplan to highlight just how much fun Harmony of the Seas will be for all ages upon her launch.
Creating the world’s first ever live infographic, Royal Caribbean’s sporting haul represented the inventory which will be used aboard Harmony of the Seas – placing a staggering 1,700 pieces of sports equipment in a delightful pattern on the sands. Becoming Royal Caribbean’s sportiest ship, more than 30 different sports and games can be enjoyed by the guests as they cruise around the world’s most beautiful oceans.
The attractive layout of sports equipment included volleyballs, surfboards, shuttlecocks, pool cues and a whole lot more. It took the dedicated Royal Caribbean team seven hours to organise all the paraphernalia into an attractive design. The live infographic was then filmed by a cutting edge drone which hovered above, capturing the sporting offerings of Harmony of the Seas.
From surfing and ice hockey to football and basketball; just about every sport we can name will be playable aboard Harmony of the Seas – providing fun and keep fit opportunities aplenty for guests. The sporting options are so large and varied, the equipment covered an amazing 85 metres of sandy beach – and these only account for one half of the sports apparatus which will be found aboard Harmony when she launches later this month.
The infographic also represents some of Royal Caribbean’s record-breaking achievements including the largest water slide at sea, first cruise line with an ice rink, first line with a rock wall and much more. Strongly appealing to the family demographic, all ages and abilities are invited to participate in all the sports aboard the Harmony of the Seas. Specialist instructors and trainers are also aboard to help introduce newcomers to the sports, or help you hone your skills on the playing field.
