2 Days of Harmony of the Seas – Ken Rush

Throughout the 10 Days of the Harmony of the Seas collection, we’ve talked extensively about the technological features and incredible facilities aboard the ship, without touching on perhaps the most important aspect of Royal Caribbean’s new vessel: the crew. Here we’ll pay homage to the crew with a little intro to one of the most important team members, Ken Rush, the Harmony of the Seas cruise director.

Royal Caribbean patrons may well have already been introduced to Ken Rush – he has been working for the cruise line for over 30. Rush is held in incredibly high esteem at RCI towers, having been selected as the cruise director for a number of the line’s new ships upon launch, including Allure of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas.

The cruise director is responsible for all guest entertainment aboard the ship, managing a massive team of dancers, musicians and activities staff. Rush’s fantastic organisational skills have made him Royal Caribbean’s go-to man for new ships – ensuring the newly-trained team know what they’re doing on a brand new ship.

Within Royal Caribbean’s dedicated fan base, Ken Rush has built up a reputation for being a charismatic voice and face of the ship – getting involved in activities and entertainment throughout every day at sea.

The news of Ken Rush’s appointment on Harmony of the Seas was leaked last October on Twitter by Nick Weir, Royal Caribbean’s Vice President of Entertainment. Undoubtedly Rush and Weir will have been working closely to ensure that the world’s largest ship offers entertainment and excitement to match her size and prestige.

And Rush has got more at stake than most; having joined Royal Caribbean in 1985, he has been with the cruise line for almost 2/3 of the years the line has been in operation – an impressive haul in any industry. His impressive list of endorsements alone speaks volumes about how highly regarded he is by Royal Caribbean colleagues, industry experts and cruise guests.

So if you’re booked on a Harmony of the Seas cruise with Ken Rush at the entertainment helm, you’re sure to be in for a great cruise experience.
