With 15 days to go until the launch of the Anthem of the Seas, we turn our attention to the stunning views she will afford her guests during her maiden season. Ensuring that no guests and cabins miss out any of the beautiful passing scenery, the Anthem of the Seas’ internal cabins will be complete with virtual balconies.
The virtual balcony is a new installation from Royal Caribbean placed in internal cabins: a large, high definition screen which assumes the role of a window or porthole – offering a live view transmitted from the exterior of the ship. This allows interior cabin guests to watch the world pass by as if sat on a private balcony of an external cabin.
The pricing structure of many cruise trips traditionally sees interior cabins selling at a much lower fare than the external cabins – due to an absence of a view. This installation can level the playing field somewhat, allowing all guests to enjoy stunning views, beautiful seascapes and spot approaching lands as the ship comes into port.
The virtual balcony screen is flanked by two curtains, further enhancing the appearance of a window into the outside world and giving guests the chance to block out the view should they wish to go to sleep or sweat out a hangover in the dark. Located at the far end of the cabin away from the door – the virtual balcony is so convincing, you’ll soon forget you’re positioned away from the sea.
An additional advantage the virtual balcony has over a traditional balcony is the opportunity to enjoy stunning views in your bathrobe without the risk of giving people in port or surrounding balconies an eyeful!
Also, all rooms with a virtual balcony also feature a TV screen, so you won’t be faced with the dilemma of choosing between stunning views of your afternoon television viewing.
