10 Best Cruise Ship Water Slides

Sometimes you’ve just got to indulge your inner kid and take the plunge. Many of the world’s best-loved cruise ships are home to fantastic water slides, perfect for letting the big kid out and plunging into the pool. Here are ten of the best cruise ship water slides.

DrainPipe

Ship: Carnival Dream

Part of the WaterWorks pool play area aboard the Carnival Dream, the DrainPipe is an enclosed twisting slide emerging into an open-top bowl.

Deal: Memphis, New Orleans & Bahamas

Radiance Slide

Ship: Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas

The water slide aboard the Radiance of the Seas is reserved for just the children, located in the kids-only pool. This is one you’ll have to sit out as the kids slide and splash.

Deal: Hawaii

Epic Plunge

Ship: Norwegian Epic

The largest passenger ship on the world with a water slide plays host to the two-part Epic Plunge. Similar to the DrainPipe, riders twist through an enclosed pipe before coming out into an exposed bowl before plummeting down a second enclosed slide.

Deal: Western Mediterranean

Twister

Ship: Carnival Magic

The sister slide to the DrainPipe, the Twister is so named because of the twisting path the slide takes riders on. Slightly longer than its sister slide, the Twister snakes high above the deck of both the Carnival Magic and Carnival Dream.

Deal: Western Caribbean

Free Fall

Ship: Norwegian Breakaway

The Free Fall aboard the Norwegian Breakaway is the almost-vertical thrill-seekers slide. Riders are placed in a transparent pod before being released plummeting towards the pool through twisting enclosed slides.

Deal: Bermuda from New York

Vertigo

Ship: MSC Preziosa

One of the most visually impressive cruise ship slides, both inside and out, is the Vertigo on the MSC Preziosa. The transparent enclosed tubes means passengers can watch one another as they slide high above the deck of the ship before entering stretches complete with psychadelic colouring.

Deal: Croatia, Italy, Greece & Turkey

Speedway Splash

Ship: Carnival Sunshine

Another entrant from Carnival’s range of WaterWorks play areas; Speedway Splash is a two-lane racing slide. Compete against your loved ones or cocky kids from the pool and show them who is the boss.

Deal: Eastern Caribbean

Line Whip

Ship: Norwegian Getaway

Affectionately known as ‘The Whip’, the two slides coil around one another like a corkscrew; the Line Whip is not for passenger pre-disposed to motion sickness.

Deal: Western Caribbean from Miami

AquaDuck

Ship: Disney Dream

Unsurprisingly, the Disney Cruises have a very popular family water ride. The AquaDuck is a one of two person water slide with propelled water track. The slide includes a slower nearly-horizontal section, giving great views over the ship.

Coco Cay Inflatable Slide

Ship: Royal Caribbean Shore Excursion

When arriving at the beautiful Bahamian resort of Cococay, Royal Caribbean passengers have the opportunity to either relax on the beach or plunge 40ft on the Sea-Trek slide. The slide is available all day during the Cococay excursion for all guests capable of swimming and at least 48 inches tall.

Deal: Bahamas
